Attendance Calculator

Calculate your attendance percentage, classes needed to reach 75%, and how many classes you can safely skip.

How to Use the Attendance Calculator

  1. Enter the number of classes attended so far.
  2. Enter the total classes held.
  3. Select your college required percentage (75% is standard for most Indian universities).
  4. See your current percentage, how many classes you can miss safely, or how many you must attend in a row to recover.

Formula & Method

Attendance % = (Classes Attended / Total Classes) x 100

Classes you can still miss: floor((Attended - Req% x Total) / Req%)

Classes needed to recover: ceil((Req% x Total - Attended) / (1 - Req%))

Each class you miss lowers the numerator, and every new class raises the denominator โ€” which is why recovering attendance gets harder as the semester progresses.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is attendance percentage calculated?

Divide classes attended by total classes held, then multiply by 100. For example, 60 attended out of 80 total = 75%.

What happens if my attendance is below 75%?

Most Indian universities bar students below 75% from writing semester exams (detention). Some allow condonation with a medical certificate or fine, typically down to 65%.

How many classes can I bunk and keep 75%?

It depends on your current numbers. If you have attended 70 of 85 classes (82.4%), you can miss 8 more and stay at 75%. This calculator tells you instantly.

Can I recover if I am below 75%?

Yes, but you must attend every upcoming class. If you are at 55 of 85 (64.7%), you need to attend the next 35 classes consecutively to reach 75%.

Does medical leave count in attendance?

Policies vary by institution. Many colleges accept medical certificates to condone a shortage of up to 10%. Check your college attendance rules.

People Also Ask

How much attendance is 60 out of 80 classes?

60 out of 80 is exactly 75% โ€” the minimum required at most colleges. You cannot afford to miss another class without falling below.

How do I raise my attendance from 70% to 75%?

Attend consecutive classes without missing any. For example, at 70 out of 100 (70%), you need 20 straight classes to reach 75%. Use the calculator with your exact numbers.

Is attendance calculated per subject or overall?

Usually per subject in most universities โ€” you need 75% in each subject separately, not just overall. A shortage in even one subject can block that exam.
